Movement Engineer Maddy Landi has been sharing his practice of movement for over 15 years. His unique strong and playful approach to practice will inspire the inner child in yourself to shine and smile. Maddy believes yoga is not just exercise on a mat, but and exercise of who your are and how you live.
Born in Miami, Florida he began dancing at the age of 3. In his early years, he studied many forms of dance such as classical ballet, jazz, latin and hip-hop. Continuing his movement experience, he studied gymnastics, cheerleading and acrobatic partnering. He began to follow yoga at the age of 16.
After a serious accident and injury, Maddy was left unable to walk. To his surprise, Maddy found yoga was the roots to not only his physical recovery, but an intimate tool for centering the mind and personal self-care. After 1.5 years of recovery, Maddy was again able to walk, move and grove. He completed his certification in Baptist style Power vinyasa and received his BA in Digital & Cinema Arts & Dance from Point Park University, Pittsburgh. Maddy spent three years performing around the world from China to Brazil with the American Modern Dance company Piloblolus.
Maddy says ”Movement is an essential part of who we are and how we experience the universe. We should learn to express and tame this essential form of ourself.” With over 15 years teaching experience, Maddy strives to share his global experience of people, movement, and yoga. He believes that by exploring both our internal and external space we can learn to let go and move past fear, doubt, and expectation.
